About Me...

As youv'e probably guessed from the welcome page my name is Charlie Carpenter. I am a 26 year old performer and maker who lives in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. My father is a clown and I have been working with him all my life. At sixteen I started working as a performer professionally and at 20 I completed a 1 year foundation course in circus at circomedia in bristol, specializing in physical theatre and arieal work. Since then I have taught and performed in many countries and although I am now based in newcastle I maintain my connections with bristol. I pride myself on being able to adapt and create acts to suit all situations and my skills include: Clowning, stilts, fire (eating/breathing, body burning, poi, staff single, double and fire ropes) bullwhip, Trapeze, corde lisse/silks, web, bed of nails, escapeology, balloons and I am competant to teach juggling at a beginner level. I also make props and costumes for myself and other professionals. I work closely with a number of groups and together we can provide pretty much anything including clown car and arena events.
